• “Soon there will be a new gourd rack system in my front yard and probably a few more before the purple martins arrive in 2007. I just received the new Super System that holds 24 gourds and a bunch of Troyer horizontals. Man, what a fabulous looking system! (There is also a 36 Gourd Super System.) Based on the exceptional quality and design of this system, I hope to order three more and all will replace my Lone Star and Natureline racks. This new Super System has the following outstanding characteristics:
  
  - 3 inch square tensile aluminum 16 foot pole that is STURDY but lightweight and able to withstand strong winds; the similar 2 inch square tensile aluminum poles for my PMCA Deluxe gourd racks have withstood powerful winds that bent my Lone Star metal poles and tore shingles off my house (A note from Diane: Deluxe Gourds Racks sold by the PMCA thru December 2005 were manufactured by Creative Universe Enterprises)
  - High quality winch system with a 3/16 inch diameter metal cable that is capable of lifting and lowering heavy gourd racks with little worry of breaking cables
  - Glide buttons inside the rack hub that facilitate easy raising and lowering without excessive noise and little wobbling on the pole or twisting in the wind; I can’t tell you how much I like these glide buttons and wish all my wobbly Lone Star rack/house systems had them
  - Two tier traditional crossbar configuration with 48 inch long metal arms protruding out in four directions allowing gourds to be suspended in different directions; crossbars already have holes drilled for suspending gourds and these holes have smooth edges to prevent “cutting” into hanging wires; this attention to detail by the manufacturer reflects their professionalism and concern for the customer and the martins
  - Heavy duty (I mean HEAVY METAL that rock groups like Metallica would admire!) iron ground stake to keep the pole and rack from toppling during storms; I have already placed this one in the ground and it is SOLID and could probably stop a bull dozier Optional gourd mounting arms that eliminate the need for hanging wires and make hanging and removing gourds an effortless chore; there are several varieties for verticals and horizontals; just bolt on the arms to the crossbar, slip on Troyer Horizontals, Super Gourds or naturals through the back/neck hole, and slide in the cotter pin to keep the gourds intact; however, you could still use wire to wrap around the mounting arms for certain gourd designs with thicker necks and the cotter pin will keep the wire from sliding off
  
  I will use other Super Systems to hang many of my natural gourds, including ones that maximize vertical/horizontal depth. It will be challenging to accommodate my vertically deep woodpecker gourds and horizontals with offset holes since these designs have larger spacing requirements; I may be able to use only two gourds rather than three per crossbar. (Note from Diane: With a bit of creativity you will have the ability to place 3 gourds per arm by using various styles of gourds on a mounting arm and or you can drill other holes into the angle aluminum re-setting the distances between gourds)” S.
